101 Collins Street has been a staple of Melbourne’s impressive skyline for over 27 years. Located at the Paris end of Collins Street, it’s an iconic and unsurpassed corporate landmark. Excelcom has been privileged to work with 101 Collins Engineering Management team and Convergint to undertake a massive network update and bring all BMS, CCTV, Security systems into a centralized network. 101 Collins Street has invested in building out a Fibre network with multiple layers of redundancy and diversity to service their internal stakeholders and tenants. The development of a new Centralised Security Network spaced out across multiple floors and plant room provides the backbone for the BMS, CCTV and Security systems. Additionally, Excelcom deployed a massive fibre backbone build with multiple sheath redundancies, Fibre break out locations and diversity Fibre Service boxes on each tenancy floor. This now provides multiple high speed Direct Fibre Optic Ports to every tenancy floor, allowing for enhanced connectivity now and well into the future. This also allows quick and easy connection for all telecommunication carriers to deliver their fibre optic service to one centralised location for primary pathway and redundant pathways. Meaning that carriers can provide any floor of the building with high-speed fibre optic connectivity within a day of an order as the infrastructure is ready and available requiring only patch leads to active and port allocation. Excel is proud to have delivered this project and built such an incredible network.
