HM Dhurringile Prison

HM Dhurringile Prison is a prison that has been in operation since 1965 160km north of Melbourne near Murchison. Excelcom where engaged as part of the tender process with Convergint the Global Service based systems integrator as part of creating a converged centralize operations for all Security and CCTV. This was a great project to work on and was interesting to interact with the Prison Guard teams, Prison work crew and other onsite contractors. Despite some initial delays, including significant weather events and loss of escort guards due to COVID and sickness, the project was still managed to be brought in in the timeframe that the client needed. Excelcom deployed five new Fibre nodes across new 48RU network racks. This supported the new structured cabling which was deployed to service workstations, CCTV, GPS timing systems, Wireless Links, Data and Voice points. Excelcom managed all the aspects of the new civils works, pole installations, rough in and fit off for PTZ cameras.

Excelcom were responsible for organizing the end-to-end solution for Layer 1 as part of the project encompassing:

3. Hauling underground and internal.
4. Fibre
5. Wireless
6. Structed cabling for new CCTV
7. Electrical works for GPOs, Wireless and new RCD works
8. Network cutover for existing systems
